Perched at 1940 meters in the midst of pristine forest of oak, rhododendron, pine and Deodar, Kot Naikana is a painstakingly renovated traditional Kumaoni house converted into a boutique Homestay.
While the exteriors reflect an old-world charm with stone walls and slated roof, yet its rooms are comfortable, homely with spacious en-suite bathrooms.
All rooms overlook the valley leading to snow-covered white peaks in the distance and are made tastefully while their decor blends in perfectly with the surroundings. Expect rustic interiors, fresh white linen, 9-inch mattresses and cozy comfortable beddings in each room. The washrooms are en- suite with stone walls, fresh towels and quality toiletries.
Since Kot Naikana is situated in a beautiful little hamlet, it is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides. If you are the adventurous kind, there are plenty of walks and hikes around the property: Undertake a 45 mins hike down to Jageshwar Dham, explore the Naikana village on foot, trek up to the sunset hill to experience a magical sky.
You can also head out to Patal Bhuvaneshwar, Almora, Lakhudiyar & Chitai Bell Temple or drive down to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Relatively unexplored, Kot Naikana is a paradise for wide varieties of migratory birds and butterflies. Step out of your room and spend the day exploring the area for Red-billed blue magpie, kingfishers, blue-throated and brown-headed barbets babblers, jungle Owlet, eagle, woodpecker, flycatchers, Eurasian jay, Blue-fronted Redstart and many more.
